also a good time for us to promote the show to some dedicated fans. Well we have that opportunity again. We will be performing for the Geary County Arts Council, in Junction City, this coming March. A date has yet to be firmed up; but, as always, we will keep you informed as things develop. Before I get the cart too far in front of the horse, let's back up a few months. Your Board has elected to move the Installation Banquet back to December this year. There were several factors that went in to this decision. Greeting to my fellow Barbershoppers! First, at our meeting on October 2nd, we will be announcing the slate of officers nominated to serve as your Board for 2004. As of the writing of this article the Nominating Committee is still short one person. I commend the Committee members on their work. As with every person who steps forward and accepts the challenges of jobs that need to be done in our chapter, their work is to be commended. They were limited only by the president with whom they serve. I also commend the gentlemen that have already stepped forward and said they would be willing to serve on the Board again this year. On October 2 we will announce their nomination to give you, the members, the required two weeks notice prior to out Annual Meeting. That brings me to the next thing. Our Annual Meeting is scheduled for October 16. You will not want to miss this meeting. This is the time when we will elect our slate of nominees for Board members. You attendance at this meeting would be greatly appreciated to ensure the broadest representation for this election. Gary Drake has stepped up and has made way for a great opportunity for our Chapter. Last year we were able to do a performance in March prior to our show. Our Director, Ken Lang, made arrangements for us to sing at his high school in Clay Center. Many men expressed how this helped them to be prepared for the show in April. It was |
