Now is the time to make your plans or finalize your plans to attend the International Convention and Contests in Indianapolis July 2–9, 2006. You will hear great barbershop singing! Let’s go and support our CSD Heart of America chorus and most likely the CSD chorus of Voices of America in the wild card contest. Our district quartet qualifiers will be determined at the CSD Spring convention in Iowa City, April 21-23, 2006.
In addition to the Quartet and Chorus Competitions, you can hear – The Harmony Foundation Show, a benefit for the charitable arm of the Barbershop Harmony Society which raises funds to further music education in the close harmony style. The Association of International Champions Show featuring some of your favorite champ quartets. The World Harmony Jamboree showcasing the best men's and women's barbershop ensembles from around the globe. The Gospel Sing and the MegaSing, open invitations for everyone to share in the joy of singing. Sing with the Champs, offering the chance to listen to and sing with champion quartets and raise funds for Harmony Foundation at the same time. Mixed Harmony Showcase with men and women blending their voices in concert.

If you have never helped put the badges together for the CSD convention, then you don’t realize how much work Bob Swenson puts in to this phase of the running of the registration process. There is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes. On the evening of Oct. 4 barbershoppers and their wives were invited to help get the badges ready. This year only 5 and the Swenson’s showed up to help, Leonard and Sharon Purvis, Terry and Karen Nanninga and Kathy Wilson It was a fun evening of visiting and eating pizza and a lot of making, stuffing and alphabetizing of badges. Thank you Bob for all your work. |
