Dave Ludwig

Dan Otto is no stranger to Manhattan, having been a student here in the 1970's and 1980's as he attained his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from KSU.  His experience as a practicing veterinarian led him to Nebraska and Illinois, as well as to positions in consulting and sales in Missouri and Kansas.

Dan is currently the Territory Sales Representative to Northeast Kansas for Merial, LTD, a Veterinary Pharmaceutical Company.  Along with Wife Melinda, they also operate the Wildcat Pet Resort here in Manhattan.  Dan and

Melinda are parents of Megan, Brian and Jeff.

When you see him, you understand why he was on the K-State Basketball team during the 1974-75 season.  Dan will probably never be a front row performer in our chorus since his 6-feet, 6-inch height would certainly hide several guys, even if they were on risers behind him.  An excellent lead singer, he has sung with the Jacksonville, Illinois Chapter, as well as his Chancel Choir.

Dan's list of Activities, honors and accomplishments includes being an Eagle

Scout, basketball and football official at the High school level, College Basketball Official, toastmasters, many veterinarian associations and community boards, as well as coaching basketball and baseball.  He has many technical publications to his credit, and is a licensed private pilot with an instrument rating.

Welcome Dan, to the Little Apple Chorus and the Manhattan Chapter.  We know you will contribute greatly to our success and enjoyment of this great hobby.

Dave Ludwig returned to his Kansas roots in June of 2002 after a ten year visit to the land of enchantment, New Mexico.  In New Mexico, Dave was co-owner of a specialty/gourmet food store that also contained a coffee shop and bakery.  Selling the business, moving back to Kansas, and taking the necessary steps to be a licensed real estate agent have kept him busy for the last four months.  He is currently the newest agent with ERA Ann Christian Linda Conderman Real Estate at 15th and Poyntz here in Manhattan.

Dave received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Emporia State University and taught school for a number of years before trying his hand in the private business sector.  While in high school and college he was active in the music department vocal groups with the ESU Men's Chorale being a high point.

Three daughters living in the Kansas City area acted as a motivating force in the relocation to Kansas.  Dave's  mother, sister and brother live in the Emporia area as well as a daughter in

Topeka.  Choosing Manhattan was an easy task because of the university, the city size and central location.  The only requirement was there had to be musical activities in the new city to keep him busy.  Dave is also a member of the Master Works Chorale which rehearses each Tuesday evening.

Welcome Dave, to the Little Apple Chorus and the Manhattan Chapter.  We know you will contribute greatly to our success and enjoyment of this great hobby.
