An Attitude of Gratitude |
|
The fall season is beautiful and so pleasant. We sense the crisp autumn breezes and sights and smells of turning color. Nature is taking a respite from a bountiful spring and summer. We are certainly blessed with a beautiful country, community and relationships. In summary, things are very good. I read recently that people who feel gratitude in their hearts are happier, more optimistic and satisfied with life. It can actually heal us. The Thanksgiving season prompts us to thank God "from whom all blessings flow." I'm grateful for the camaraderie of our barbershop chapter members. I like the challenges of learning and growing in my understanding of music. I need the stimulation of "forced" memorization, the emotional high of performing and the weekly routine of meeting with my fellow barbershoppers. If I couldn't do this, it would be like taking away my car keys. I thank all of you for being a part of my life and keeping me going. I hope you feel this way, too. We had a great time joining in the Salute to America and the tribute to our veterans. Among other things it showed we could quickly learn a multiplicity of |

words to communicate a deep appreciation for our heritage and our veterans. We appreciate Ken Lang's patience and persistence as we work on the distinctives that make our style of vocal music so listenable, understandable and enjoyable. We will not meet on Thanksgiving Day, of course, but following comes the busy Christmas season. Our mission this year is to bring a time of joy and good |
