President's Message (Continued from page 7) mended. WARM UP! Gentlemen, we are attempting to start a new trend when it comes to meeting warm-ups. We would like to get away from one man being responsible for actually doing the warm-ups every week. This is one of those opportunities I mentioned earlier. If you feel that you would be interested in helping with this TEAM effort let Mike Sexton or myself know. We would like to create a rotation of men that will spread the experience out and get more guys out in front of the chapter for warm-up time at the meetings. Thank you for your patience as I try my hand at this myself. I will be taking a class at the HEARTLAND HARMONY HAPPENING that should help me to be better at this. I would also like to offer a welcome to all of our guests recently. It has been a pleasure to have all of you visit with us. Your attendance is a testimony to the fact that our members love what they do in our chapter and want others to have the experience. We look forward to further visits from you and hope that you will choose to stay around and join us. If you have any questions regarding membership, see our outstanding VP for Chapter Development, Bob Ridley. Now for the tag, thanks to the efforts of all that continue to contribute to the success of our chapter. All of your efforts go to making our chapter meetings an experience that every man can look forward to weekly. Every person should be so lucky to get the opportunity to invest in the experience. I need to run down to the hardware store now, to get some of that solvent that will remove tar from skin. Your President, Rodney Stanfield |

COMMUNITY SONG LEADING Keep the Whole World Singing How important is singing to our culture? How important is it to each of us? You know the answers to these questions. Barbershoppers, perhaps above all others, understand the rewards of recreational singing. One way we can keep the flame of recreational singing alive is to promote community singing when and wherever we perform. We can also encourage community singing in other organizations to which we belong. The SPEBSQSA Community Song Leading Guide contains advice and ideas from Joe Liles, Burt Szabo, Val Hicks and Bill Biffle. Please use it to help accomplish the important task of keeping singing alive in our communities. The SPEBSQSA Community Song Leading Guide is available to download from the Society web site at www.spebsqsa.org > Sing and Perform > Performance Skills> SPEBSQSA Community Song Leading Guide |
