On May 7th, nineteen members of the Little Apple Chorus and six member's wives gathered in Clay Center along with family members and many other friends to pay their last respects to Ray Sharp.  Graveside services at the Greenwood Cemetery were held at  1  p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Service at the Clay Center Christian Church starting at 2 p.m.  The quartet, Charades,  provided barbershop harmony at both services.

Ray Sharp was a Charter Member of the Manhattan Chapter, and in 1977 received the Chapter's first Barbershopper of the Year Award, which recognized his faithfulness in attending Chapter meetings, sing-outs and social functions.  In the 70's and '80's Ray made the 70 mile round trip in the company of the late John Smutz and Elmer Heitman, also Charter Members.  More recently, Bill Lewis and Ned Valentine often traveled with Ray,  although physical problems have limited Ray's participation in the last year or so.

Ray's positive attitude and cheerful smile were a welcome part of so many  Chapter events over the years.  He will be missed.
