cently, I provided a poster for all to take the opportunity to sign up for jobs in the chapter. We have many chances for all members to plug in and find a way to serve our chapter. Needless to say, the response to that was just a bit shy. That moves us to the next strategy for fulfilling that goal. I and the VPs will be meeting to begin to assign people to teams to help us do the work of our chapter. As I sit down to put these words together for this article, I am drawn to one thought that I must address first. All of you know by now, one of our Charter Members Ray Sharp passed away recently. I had the opportunity to sit next to Ray many meeting nights and share this great hobby with him. I know many other leads can claim this privilege as well. As I have been thinking about Ray and the few but precious memories I have of our time together in Barbershop, I have to stop and thing of my own contribution and commitment to this hobby or ours. Ray established an example in our hobby we would all do well to examine if not follow to the core of our hearts. Ray loved Barbershop Music; he had spent many years devoted to the hobby. I hope that my time and effort in this hobby over the years will produce even half the love for it that Ray exhibited. May God Bless Ray and his family. We are sorry for their loss. It is my hope that we do not forget the legacy of Barbershop that Ray left us. I also hope that we will continue to stay committed to preserving the craft that Ray gave some many years of his life to. Thanks Ray, save us a seat in the Chapter Eternal. We are continuing to work to organize the chapter in a way that will help us to better accomplish out mission. Re |
