on the corner of Poyntz and  6th Street, Manhattan, Kansas.

Chorus featured in band shell dedication

     Forty-one members and one great director of the Little Apple Barbershop Chorus sang out their hearts in the dedication of the new Larry Norvell Band Shell in City Park, Manhattan, Kansas, Friday, June 4.  The evening was quite a tribute to the band music leadership of Larry Norvell, our maestro.  Larry taught in the USD 383 schools for 36 years and

retired as the school system's music coordinator.  He served as Manhattan Municipal Band director for 45 years that spanned the years from 1950 through 1994.

     To an estimated 4,500 persons in attendance, the chapter members sang "Take Me to the Land of Jazz," "Once Upon a Time" and "Muskrat Ramble."  The final
