New Members: Myron Carpenter |
|
New member, my son Myron, has been a joy to his mother and me at all times. He learned early from his older sisters and brother what "no" meant. He has brought his family much happiness and caused no problems as a lad. However, as sons might do he pulled some things I didn't know about until he was older. At the age of 10 he surprised his parents when he went to the Mercury paper office and got a job delivering papers. He made many lasting friends on his paper route. He became an Eagle Scout and earned a top award that was presented to him by Senator Robert Dole for saving the lives of a young couple whose boat capsized while they were on Tuttle Creek Lake. Myron maintained good grades in school. He lettered in five sports in junior high and was a starter on the varsity in both football and basketball at MHS. He sang in Pops Choir. He was assistant manager at Ballard's Sporting Goods store for 10 years. He is now a letter carrier in Manhattan. He and his wife, Sue, have two daughters in college and a son, a 2003 senior at MHS. Myron has coached numerous soccer teams and has been active in school activities. This may sound like a proud, happy father. You know what? It is! |
