Fall Convention is coming up on us fast. The convention will be in Cedar Rapids this Fall, October 10-12. Make plans to attend this year if you can. I know the dates will compete with the plans of many of our Purple Loving members. However, I have to say it is one of the few things that is a good alternative to KSU Football. Get your registrations in early and take advantage of the early registration discounted price. Your President, Rodney |

GREAT Summer "Performances". We call them Church Sing Outs. Once again we have put smiles on the faces of people in churches all over Manhattan on June 22 and 29 and in Clay Center on July 13. Thanks to the Clay Center men for hosting us. Someone told me recently, that a hobby should not become work because if it does, then the hobby is no longer fun. I am finding, as an officer, it is easy to let this become work. There is so much to do. The magnitude of our chapter makes for plenty of things to do. I get so wrapped up in those tasks that I forget that what we do is SING. My thanks go out to all those who give of their time and talents to the logistical side of out chapter. Whatever you do, don't let it become work; make every effort to accomplish the work when it won't get in the way of SINGING. Let us continue to remind one another to stop the work every now and then and SING. This reminds me to pull get on my soapbox. We have many un-manned tasks that are going undone. It would be far better to have many men accomplishing these tasks as opposed to a few men doing everything. Do not hesitate to step forward and volunteer to take on one of the many tasks that should be done to help our Chapter run more smoothly. As with any organization, we need people to pitch in and help do the WORK so that the others involved in the WORK can enjoy the singing also. One last thing - - the Central States District |
