The reason for the three shirts is because three is the number of red shirts owned by prop provider Bart. The song about the three red shirts was a hit when Harmonies Quad sang at Amanda Arnold Elementary School during their Teacher Appreciation Day activities in late May. Below is the note sent to the quartet by the school. Dear Barbershop Quartet, Thank you so much for visiting our school and singing. We really enjoyed listening to you. The songs were fun and unique and great for all ages! Our favorite was Bill Grogan's Goat! You're welcome to visit our school as often as you like. Thanks again! Sincerely, The Staff and Students of Amanda Arnold Elementary School Fellow barbershoppers: Please accept our apologies for modifying the words to a song. Also, thank you for listening closely as we sang it. |

When the Harmonies Quad sang "Bill Grogan's Goat" at a chapter meeting, several members were quick to point out that the goat had eaten six, not three, red shirts from the line. |
