MANHATTAN CHAPTER SPEBSQSA, INC. REGULAR BOARD MEETING - DECEMBER 8, 2003, WESTBANK TOWNHOMES CLUBHOUSE

MINUTES:

Officers Present: Rodney Stanfield, Bob Swenson, Bill Bunyan, Ken Brooks, Richard Van Nevel, Bob Ridley

Officers Absent: Mike Sexton, Harvey Kiser, Ken Garwick

Others: Don Thomson, Bart Bartholomew, Sam Kvasnica, Ken Lyle

Call to Order: President Rodney Stanfield opened the meeting to order at 7:31 p.m. with the singing of "My Wild Irish Rose". Mr. Stanfield asked for additions to the agenda but none were forthcoming.

Officer's and Committee Reports:

Secretary: Secretary Bob Swenson had distributed the minutes by email previously and copies were available at the meeting. It was moved by Ken Brooks and seconded by Bill Bunyan that we approve the minutes of the November 10 meeting as published. Motion carried Bob Swenson also presented minutes of the special board meeting on November 13 during the regular chapter meeting. A motion was made by Bob Ridley and seconded by Rich Van Nevel that we approve those minutes as presented. The motion carried

Treasurer: Treasurer Bill Bunyan presented a written financial report showing that the chapter has operating funds $10,144. Mr. Bunyan indicated that he had received a thank you letter from the Harmony Foundation for our contributions. It was moved by Bob Swenson and seconded by Rich Van Nevel that we accept the treasurer's report as presented. Motion carried.

VP of Chapter Development: Bob Ridley reported that even though he had planned to do so, no fall guest night was held. The chapter does enjoy several visitors from time to time who are definitely prospective members.

VP of Music and Performance: In Mike Sexton's absence, the board discussed the Junction City spring performance to be held March 6, things seem to be on schedule and no concern was expressed.

Director of Music: Don Thomson reported that we would soon be moving to show schedule once the Singing Valentines before chapter rehearsals are complete. He also expressed concern if we are going to
