BOARD MINUTES By Bob Swenson, Secretary MANHATTAN CHAPTER SPEBSQSA, INC. REGULAR BOARD MEETING - DECEMBER 9, 2002, WESTBANK TOWNHOMES CLUBHOUSE MINUTES: Officers Present: Mike Shepherd, Rodney Stanfield, Bob Swenson, Wayne Bailie, Mike Sexton, Ken Brooks, Preston Chapel, Harvey Kiser Officers Absent: Bill Bunyan, Leo Dreiling, Richard Van Nevel Others: Bob Ridley, Don Thomson Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:29 P.M. with the group singing, "Silent Night". Officer's and Committee Reports: Secretary: The minutes of the board meeting of November 11, 2002, had been submitted by email prior to this meeting and were available in hard copy format for the members present. It was moved by Harvey Kiser and seconded by Ken Brooks that the minutes be approved as prepared. Motion passed. Treasurer: The treasurer's report prepared by Bill Bunyan was presented by Don Thomson due to Bill's unexpected absence. Since there were no unexpected expenses known to the group, it appears that the financial condition of the chapter is still quite healthy. It was moved by Wayne Bailie and seconded by Bob Swenson that the treasurer's report be accepted as presented. Motion passed. VP of Music and Perf: Mike Sexton reported that vans have been secured from the Methodist Church for the transportation during our caroling performances on December 19. There was considerable discussion about licensing questions regarding learning tapes. It was moved by Ken Brooks and seconded by Wayne Bailie that we authorize the music committee to continue production of the learning tapes and paying the appropriate licensing fees as necessary for those songs in our spring show. Motion passed. VP of Chapter Development: Rodney Stanfield reported that the process for determining the grants to area schoolteachers is almost complete and that the funds should be distributed in time for the second semester of this school year.
