BOARD MINUTES By Bob Swenson, Secretary MANHATTAN CHAPTER SPEBSQSA, INC. REGULAR BOARD MEETING - JANUARY 13, 2003, WESTBANK TOWNHOMES CLUBHOUSE MINUTES: Officers Present: Mike Shepherd, Rodney Stanfield, Bob Swenson, Ken Brooks, Bill Bunyan, Harvey Kiser, Ken Garwick Officers Absent: Bob Ridley, Preston Chapel, Richard Van Nevel Others: Bart Bartholomew, Don Thomson Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:34 p.m.. with the group singing, "Let Me Call You Sweetheart". Officer's and Committee Reports: Secretary: The minutes of the December 9th meeting, previously distributed by email and available in hard copy were approved on a motion by Mike Shepherd which was seconded by Ken Brooks. Treasurer: The treasurer's report prepared by Bill Bunyan was presented at the meeting. A motion by Harvey Kiser, seconded by Ken Garwick, was made to accept the treasurer's report. Motion passed. VP of Music and Perf: Mike Shepherd reported that he will be leaving the Chapter in late spring due to a job transfer. It was suggested that he organize our performance schedule for the year, thereby making an easy transition for his replacement. Suggestions for that replacement were made and work has begun in replacing Mike. VP of Chapter Development: In Bob Ridley's absence, President Stanfield reported that the grants have been awarded from last year's grant applications. A question arose about the chapter's publicity brochures. President Stanfield indicated he felt confident he could locate them. VP of Public Relations: Harvey Kiser reported that he is preparing an ad for the McCain series of programs for this spring. He has sent two articles to the Clay Center Dispatch for publication prior to our show there on February 2. He inquired as to the need for song notes and descriptions for our performance in Clay Center. Bart Bartholomew, newsletter editor and web master, asked about the publication (Continued on page 3) |
