Well, time is quickly approaching. 50+ days and 7 or 8 more rehearsals remaining before show time. We have done quite a bit of work already in preparation, but, we have much left to do. First let me congratulate everyone on the outcome of the Singing Valentines. OUTSTANDING!! Bob says we were able to do about 140 Singing Valentines this year. This project was a success but not without the dedicated effort of members and non-members alike. I continue to be awed by the way our community responds to this project. Many of them do not even know the far-reaching the effects of the money they contribute. The Singing Valentine project continues to be an effort that allows us to support community and educational ventures that we choose to be involved in. This year about 50% of our chorus was involved in the Singing Valentine effort in one way or the other. We also cannot celebrate our success of recognizing the efforts of people that are not even in our membership. The contribution of Bob Swenson's business and his personnel deserve much of the credit for our success. With out that resource there is no way we could enjoy the level of success we do. Also, the contributions of several wives are critical to our success. Thanks to everyone involved!! As we get closer to the show date there are a couple things that come to my mind. The practices are already longer and we have already begun spending time on the risers. I know that the long rehearsals and the riser time can be quite fatiguing for many of us. Thanks to all of you who continue to make it to the rehearsals for the longer times. As we begin to spend more and more time on the risers, I want you to know that we under |

stand that this is more difficult for some that it is for others. All of us can do things that will help build our stamina for standing on the risers. This year we will need to be in shape for not only one show, but for two. This cannot be done without each of us doing what is needed to keep our self in shape for being on the risers for these long periods of time. If you find these long periods on the risers difficult, I do not want you feeling that you have to drop out of the show. Communicate with someone that this is difficult for you and we will work in every way to accommodate your time at rehearsal. We cannot help you if we do not know what your needs are. Let someone know. Show day this year will be difficult for all of us in many ways. We are not used to doing two shows in one day. We will need to be diligent (Continued on page 4) |
