Three VLQ’s Spreading Christmas Cheer to Some of the Seniors in Manhattan

Three VLQ's, totaling nearly 45 Little Apple Chorus members, along with some wives and guests, sang traditional Christmas carols to residents and staff of the Manhattan retirement centers during the early evening of December 15.  Four organized chapter quartets--The Charades, Apple Core Tet, Manhattan Music Machine and Men of A Chord--also performed at the various locations.

One VLQ sang to residents of Homestead Assisted Living at their dinner hour, then spent the next 45 minutes caroling to residents of the Stoneybrook Retirement Community.  A second group caroled in the six courts at the Health Care unit of Saint Joseph Village, then
finished by singing at the Assisted Living unit as residents gathered for their evening meal.  The third VLQ sang in 6 different venues within the Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community.

Singing was documented with digital photos of members and residents.  It was reported that our total audience was about 375.  VP for Marketing, Harvey Kiser, the centers to publish a photo in their newsletters, which will be another great PR promotion.  Not only is this a great community service opportunity for the Chapter, but there seems to be a mutual "heart warming" for both the singers and the audience at this time of year.
