Merry Christmas to all of you. The editor says it is time for this newsletter to be finished but the pres has not sent her an article. Thank you one and all for your participation in the Caroling and Christmas banquet last week. Our hobby is one of participation so only by your being involved can you enjoy your hobby. It is great to have our wife’s with us for support of this endeavor and to enjoy this special time of the year.
As we turnover the calendars to the New Year we look forward to many things happening in our chapter. We will begin show schedule with the first chapter meeting in January. I have asked some people to help with the setup of the risers each week. Anyone that can come early is welcome to help get things ready for each chapter meeting. We will be getting information out as soon as possible about our meeting location. We will be meeting elsewhere until the remodeling of the Harris Activity center is finished. We have talked about the need to get the music learned very soon so that our directors can start teaching interpretation and choreography. I think being on the risers will help us to get off the music and learn the music. We should be studying on our own each week. Good attendance will also keep each of us up to date in the learning process.
Valentine’s Day will be here shortly and we will need more than just our registered quartets to fill all of the orders. If you can help in this fun and fulfilling activity, talk to any of the board. Mr. Valentine ( Bob Swenson) will be heading up this effort again this year. The board at the December meeting decided to have a 2006 planning session on Jan. 7 a Saturday morning. While this is for the board members to get some things planned no one will be excluded. If you have some ideas that you would like to see happen in our chapter this will be the time to bring them to your board. I will announce details about this meeting shortly.
I will conclude by saying Thank You to all of the members for helping our chapter grow this past year. Remember that membership begins with ME. We need each one to be an active member. Continue to bring your friends to any chapter meeting or activity. Tell a director or board member about the possible opportunities to sing. This is what we do to enjoy our hobby. Let’s KEEP THE WHOLE WORLD SINGING.
