Well, we're on board for one more year of $inging Valentine$, so get ready for this great first-of-the-year money maker. $inging Valentine$ is a whole-chapter project. It is not just for the organized quartets. I can guarantee anyone who volunteers that there will be a job to do with this year's $inging Valentine$.
While this year's $inging Valentine$ project will be much the same as in past years, we're always looking for improvements in the system and what we offer, so If you have some suggestions, please let us know. We're also looking for some committee responsibilities, so you may get to help implement your suggestions!
We've decided to keep the same prices this year, since we have not reached the point where we have more orders than we can handle. A $30 one-song Valentine is indeed a bargain for the giver, and with proper organization, we can deliver 25 to 30 $inging Valentine$ per hour with all our quartets active.
We will offer $inging Valentine$ on Monday evening, February 13, and all day on the 14th. Mark your 2006 calendar now and get February 14 off if you work so you can help. We'll need dispatchers, drivers, presenters, hostess assistants, office workers, and of course substitute singers when a regular quartet guy has to pack it in for one reason or another.
We are also looking for new quartets to form up and will provide pre-meeting help starting January 12, for those interested in either forming a quartet or substituting. Our Music leadership will be helping us in this area, and must approve every quartet before assignments are given to that quartet.
Promotion of our $inging Valentine$ program is everybody's responsibility. We'll have the little red-folders explaining the program available in the middle of January, and all you have to do is hand them out. You don't have to sell a thing, collect any money, or put up posters.
Of course, the big wrap-up party at 7:00 on Tuesday Evening February 14 is always a great time. Plan now on inviting your wife and/or girlfriend to this special event. It's for the whole chapter regardless of your involvement in the program, and it is definitely a fun time. Mike Sexton already has arranged a venue for this great celebration.
