Thanks for the Honor To all the members of the Little Apple Barbershop Chorus, thank you for selecting me as your Barbershopper of the Year. As I reflect upon the other members of the Chorus who have been awarded the same honor over past years, I am indeed humbled to be a member of such a select group of men. this past summer K-State music symposium. These funds have been provided for four years and are designed to help the Chorus carryout its mission of "preserving and encouraging vocal music, in our education systems and in our communities, as a lifelong recreational activity and an essential element in one's cultural well-being." These funds are made possible by the local communities' continued support of the Chorus' Singing Valentine Program and the Annual Spring Show held in April. |

(Continued from page 4) Music Teacher Grants Announcement Sent to Local Newspapers School teachers funded are from Alma, Altoona, Council Grove, Hugoton, Junction City, Lebo, Manhattan, Oakley, Ottawa and Topeka. These eleven grants, totaling $2,348, will allow the teachers to upgrade and enrich their curriculum material and in some cases increase their meager budgets by as much as 45 percent.
