As with all change, completion of a task, an objective, project or mission sets one up to answer the question, "What's next?" We look forward We appreciate the past for that, too, was at a particular time looking forward. To past president Rodney and other officers who provided leadership for our chapter this past year, we say, "Thank you." Chapter business helps facilitate chapter enjoyment. It has to be done. But leadership is not effective without followership. To each Joe Barbershopper who was and is diligent in attendance, learning music, and accepts committee assignments with enthusiasm, our whole membership applauds you. You are the ones who give our barbershop fellowship its unique color and chemistry. Our music leadership team of Ken, Don and Myron bring something musically special into being that is truly beautiful and brings happiness and pleasure to singer and listener alike. We are blessed with these gifted and dedicated leaders. Now for year 2004. The schedule is tight for us to be prepared for the Geary County Arts Council benefit on March 6 and the Sentimental Journey show on April 24. We want to present first-class performances. It's up to each of us to devote extra time and effort between chapter meetings to learn those words and notes. Let's do it, men. |

At the installation banquet, I presented a vision for our chapter that included more quartetting. Several of you have expressed a desire to build on the projects that Don Thomson initiated last fall with Quartetting 101 and the Barberpole Cat Program that Myron Calhoun has so ably administered for a number of years. Not everyone desires to sing in an organized quartet. However, it can be proven that the experience of even informal quartetting will make you a better singer. You want to be a better singer and your fellow barbershoppers want you to be the best singer you can be. With the approval of your board we will be making the quartet experience briefly available at |
