(Continued from page 2) Brown Scholarship funds and that the president appoint a representative to contact David about the best method of transferring the funds to him. Motion passed. President Mike Shepherd appointed Secretary Bob Swenson to be that representative. VP of Music and Perf: Mike Sexton indicated that the 19th of December would be our caroling opportunity to three or four nursing homes. Several items of discussion included inviting alumni members of the chapter who would like to sing with us. We should also use the Christmas Chorus concept as a recruitment tool. Our performances will start at 6 o'clock and we will investigate the possibilities of using a bus for transportation. The use of quartets to open and close each performance so that the chorus movement can be overlapped was suggested. Several wives will be recruited to help the refreshments with an after-caroling fellowship to be held at the Westbank Townhomes Clubhouse. VP of Chapter Development: Rodney Stanfield reported that the committee has begun to review the grant application and should have recommendations ready shortly. Our current membership is at 66 members with one reinstatement pending. Our membership at the end of last year was 69. VP of Public Relations: Harvey Kiser reported there is ongoing discussion regarding KSU music students attending our chorus for college credit. There was consensus among the group that we could offer membership scholarships to the students in this program. Director of Music: Reg Pittman's last scheduled meeting with us would be November 14. Scheduling conflicts prevent regular scheduled pre-chorus meetings with him until after the show, however it was suggested that Reg be asked to come to some of our rehearsals prior to the show to coach the directors on any musical aspects of our impending performance. Since we are paying Reg, it was suggested that we insert a budget line item for this activity in next year's budget. |

Show Chairman: The title of our spring show will be "Jukebox Saturday Night". It was agreed that performances should be at 2 o'clock in the afternoon and 7:30 in the evening. Discussion centered around using the Dixieland Barefoot Band for both performances with the suggestion of 150 percent of last year's fee would be reasonable compensation for their two performances. Web Development: Ken Brooks reported that his visits with Webmaster Bart Bartholomew were very positive and that Bart did see the need to create a Little Apple Chorus domain name. Old Business: None. New Business: Copies of the proposed youth policy as modified November 2nd by the international board were presented to the members for discussion. Implementation of the youth policy is a requirement of the international board and it was agreed that we table this item until the proposed documents can be reviewed by a local attorney to make sure they conform with current jurisdiction laws. It was moved by Richard Van Nevel and seconded by Preston Chapel that the chapter acquire 12 new member packets entitled "Come Join Us in a Song" for distribution to prospective members. Motion passed. There was a request from Bob Swenson, Singing Valentines Chairman, for members to make any suggestions for implementation in next year's singing valentine program. Adjournment: President Mike Shepherd declared the meeting closed with the singing of "Let Me Call You Sweetheart". The next meeting will be December 9, 2002 at 7:30 p.m., at the Westbank Townhomes Clubhouse. |
