BOARD MINUTES By Bob Swenson, Secretary MANHATTAN CHAPTER SPEBSQSA, INC. REGULAR BOARD MEETING - NOVEMBER 11, 2002, WESTBANK TOWNHOMES CLUBHOUSE MINUTES: Officers Present: Mike Shepherd, Rodney Stanfield, Bob Swenson, Bill Bunyan, Mike Sexton , Leo Dreiling, Ken Brooks, Richard Van Nevel, Preston Chapel, Harvey Kiser Officers Absent: None Others: Bob Ridley, Don Thomson, Leonard Purvis Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:29 P.M. with the group singing, "The Story of the Rose". Officer's and Committee Reports: Secretary: The minutes of the board meeting of October 14, 2002, had been submitted electronically prior to this meeting but were also presented in hard copy format for the members present. It was moved by Rodney Stanfield and seconded by Preston Chapel that the minutes be approved as prepared. Motion passed. Treasurer: The financial report for the month of October was presented by Treasurer Bill Bunyan. Bill estimates that sufficient funds will remain after current obligations have been paid to carry us through until our next fund raising event on February 14, 2003. It was moved by Mike Sexton and seconded by Ken Brooks that we accept the treasurer's report as presented. Motion passed. Brown Scholarship: Leonard Purvis attended this meeting to explain to the group the wishes of the Brown family regarding the scholarship money received from the estate and memorial contributions of Mrs. Margaret Brown. Leonard indicated that the family preferred that this scholarship be used for new student members of our chapter for at least two years. It was moved by Ken Brooks and seconded by Harvey Kiser that the chapter award a $250 scholarship to David Davis from the (Continued on page 3) |
