With this newsletter we have a new editor trying to fill some very big shoes. When Bart came to me and said he wanted to resign as our editor because of his traveling time. I said will you help someone new?” His response was "sure but I will be gone a lot so it will be by e-mail or phone". We would like to thank Bart for keeping us all better informed with the best newsletter in the Barbershop Harmony Society. This is not only our opinion locally but his win at the International Convention this summer confirmed it. Thank you Bart.

What a busy summer this has been for many members of the Manhattan chapter. As will be reported else where in this newsletter we have done a lot of what we enjoy the most which is singing. taken this campaign to heart and more of us are getting onboard as we get closer to the open house date. We need to understand that we can and will succeed only if we put individual effort into the process.

Bill Hanson and Harvey Kiser have spent  much effort in getting advertisements out to each of the chosen media outlets. The name lists that members gave  have been tabulated so invitations will go to the people that you identified as good prospects for our chapter membership. This has been a labor of love for our chapter by these guys.

It is now your turn to help bring those prospects to the open house show them where to sit, use the music and feel welcome to return again. Don and Ken have put together a very neat and exciting package for this night. We will be on the risers for a short program and invite the new prospects to join us to sing. There will be activities for the ladies and other special treats. Be sure and come join in the fun and singing.
