     The summer has come and gone this year with lots of fond memories of singing with each other throughout the Manhattan area.  The fellowship we have encountered this past summer will give us all moments to reflect on in the future.

     The Little Apple Barbershop Chorus sang in many places this summer.  The primary places of singing have been at 19 nearby and local church congregations after singing on June 4 dedication of the new Larry Norvell Band Shell in Manhattan.  The chorus members enjoyed singing spiritual and gospel music at 20 worship services for 19 different congregations June 13 and July 11, 18 and 25 during the time the church choirs were on summer break.

     On June 13 the chorus sang at the following churches in northeastern Kansas: United Methodist in Beattie;

Presbyterian in Summerfield; St. Michaels and United Methodist in Axtell; Salem Lutheran in rural Axtell; and Mission Covenant, also in rural Axtell.
      During the month of July the chorus sang in the Manhattan area in the First United Methodist, First Christian, First Baptist, University Christian, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Blue Valley Memorial United Methodist, St. Paul's Episcopal, College Heights Baptist, Trinity Presbyterian, College Avenue United Methodist, Fellowship Temple, Mennonite, and First Presbyterian.

     After singing on the June 13, members enjoyed a steak-fry at the home of Terry and Karen Nanninga and on July 25, members enjoyed a summer picnic hosted by Don Thomson, and Leo Dreiling.
