The best show you have ever presented |
|
Every year we hear, "that is the best show you have ever presented". I have heard over and over. This year, I might believe it. I thought that we were well prepared. We knew the music better than most of our previous shows. We knew what was coming next, and the show moved along very well. There were a lot of facets to the performances; I speak mostly from my part of the entire production. We had a very creative Creative Committee (although it was not listed correctly in the program). Paula Caffey, Mary Bartholomew, and Gene Klingler should have been included. The set crew of Pat and Paula Caffey, Bart Bartholomew, and Ken Brooks made us look very professional (the pictures were almost unbelievable!). The work that Mary Bartholomew did for us back stage was invaluable. She did many things that most of us would not even think of! |

We "hired" a couple of professionals to set up our music and they both did a terrific job. And the McCain crew is giving us better support each year. This year the light crew had 50+ lighting cues, and I think they hit every one of them. It is fun to hear from those who have attended our shows faithfully over the years, but it is also |

fun to hear from those who have experienced a show for the first time. It was fun for both of those groups, and I know that we made some more BSHP fans this year. I have heard a lot of favorable comments about the vintage cars that were parked outside of McCain. Mike Sexton made the arrangements for this display, and it was a very nice touch to the day. I don't consider those to be "old" cars...but I have spoken to many people who think the 50's and 60's was a long time ago! Congratulations to those of you who were singing in your first show. I asked for a show of hands and got four, but I think there were more than those. I may be wrong on this, but I think Dave Davis, Tom Miles, Dave Ludwig, Ken Lyle, Ned Valen |

tine and Dan Otto were all on stage with us for the first time. We seem to enjoy "dressing up" for our shows. Thanks to you who took that extra effort to "look the part". The audience really got a kick out of it. Can we do it again? I think we can. We might try to start learning our songs a little sooner this year. What will our "theme" be? Got any ideas? |
