BOARD MINUTES By Bob Swenson, Secretary MANHATTAN CHAPTER SPEBSQSA, INC. REGULAR BOARD MEETING - March 10, 2003, WESTBANK TOWNHOMES CLUBHOUSE MINUTES: Officers Present: Bob Swenson, Ken Brooks, Bill Bunyan, Harvey Kiser, Bob Ridley, Richard Van Nevel Officers Absent: Rodney Stanfield, Ken Garwick Others: Don Thomson, Preston Chapel Call to Order: Membership Vice President, Bob Ridley, opened the meeting at 7:35 PM with the group singing, "The Old Songs". President's Message: Vice President Bob Ridley referred the group to notes prepared by President Rodney Stanfield regarding points on which the board should be informed: 1. The Award of Harmony team has been appointed with Gene Klingler as chair and J. Lester Hooper and Leo Dreiling assisting. 2. Manhattan Arts Council Membership should be continued with the designation that we offer a grant to fund a music education or entertainment series of some kind. 3. Auditors for the 2002 fiscal year have been appointed. Pete Cooper will chair and John Schlender will assist in this audit. 4. There is need of a task force to explore the relationship with the local boy scouts. It is President Stanfield's intent to appoint this team when he returns to Manhattan. Officer's and Committee Reports: Secretary: The minutes of the February 10, 2003 meeting were not reproduced in hard copy for this meeting, but had been previously distributed by email to the board. It was moved by Ken Brooks and seconded by Rich VanNevel that we approve the minutes as presented by email. Motion passed Treasurer: The February fiscal report was presented by Treasurer Bill Bunyan. Bill indicated that the social fund, showing a negative $261 balance was for this year only but when combined with previous surpluses it is still in good shape. The report showed that as of February 28, our total available funds were $11,307.37. It was moved by Bob Swenson and Preston Chapel that we accept the treasurer's report.
