Greetings fellow barbershoppers!  I wish sometimes that more members would just show up at various meetings of our chapter!  Whether it is a board meeting or Music Committee meeting, you can always learn something new and of coarse SING!

Wednesday evening at the home Don and Joan Thomson, we had a wonderful evening of barbershop at it’ best!   We spent a good deal of time singing through each of our spring show songs and with Ken at the helm, we got a glimpse of the interpretation we are working towards!!  Don was also adding possible choreography thoughts!!  It was a great evening, not a boring meeting by any stretch of the imagination!   We really need to thank Don, Ken, and Myron as well as our section leaders for all of there hard work behind the scenes as well as in front of the chorus!!  This is going to be another great Spring Show!!  I hope you are all planning on coming out to Celebrate it with us! ♪

Music has always been a part of my life and I have been singing in choirs and at home for as long as I can remember. I also competed with a mixed Quartet (non-barbershop) as a teen. In addition to singing I play with, as opposed to play well, several instruments. Until recently, barbershop music was all but unknown to me but I have quickly grown to love its complex nature and sometimes insane challenge to learn. Like all of us, I have caught the barbershop bug and it’s now an inseparable part of my life.

I grew up in the Sacramento, CA area and was a military transplant to KS. I served 15 years in the Army as a
Medic, Nurse, and an electronics technician. About 6 years ago I began my second career with the Army as a civilian; first as a Server Administrator in the information technology field and now as a Communications Planner where I perform engineering tasks in the fields of Information Technology and Telecommunications for Fort Riley.

I have a beautiful and understanding wife, Amy, who has put up with me for 12 years now and - we have 3 children; Charlie age 18, Brent age 10, and Laura age 6. I am a geek thru and thru and love gadgets, my computer, music, and strangely enough my motorcycle but not necessarily in that order. ♪
