In November, many chapter members attended CSD’s Leadership Academies. In Lawrence, Kansas those who attended from our chorus were Bill Hanson, president class; John Thomason, marketing and public relations class; Dave Fink, Joe Barbershopper class. In Sioux Falls, South Dakota those who attended were Loren Alexander, music and performance class; Terry Nanninga, Joe Barbershopper; Karen Nanninga (chapter bulletin editor), Joe Barbershopper; and Julien Beuve-Mery of Brussels, Belgium (an ERDT [Educational Resource Developmental Trust/Share exchange student with the Nanningas), Joe Barbershopper. Well, this is the time of year when we can let ourselves run down and even get ill. We, of course, need to take care of our bodies, but also to remember that our voice is part of the body...and a very important part of the body if you like to sing! So this is just a quick reminder to get plenty of rest (amidst all of the holiday activity), drink lots of water (keep you vocal chords lubricated), wash your hands (keep those germs out of your system), and sing often (keeps your spirits high).
