friends can attend only one of the competition events.  Those registrations must be purchased at the convention and naturally will not involve reserved seats near our chapter.  Single event registrations for the chorus contest are $16, and the quartet finals, including a show of champions, is $23.  If your friend is attending both Saturday events, a regular registration ($33) is less expensive and will provide a seat next to yours.

You may register online at the above website, or enter your data on the registration forms at the chapter meeting up until September 27, after which prices change.  The registration form allows you to enter credit card information if you so choose, or attach your check to the form.  Notice the prices on the registration form are $38 and $48, but those are before a $5 discount that disappears on September 28.

Here are some examples of possible registration scenarios:

    1) Single guy, going down Saturday morning and returning after the competition:  Regular registration ($33) paid by chapter, nothing additional due.

     2) Married guy, wife and he are attending only the chorus competition:  Regular registration ($33) paid by chapter, she must buy $16 chorus single event registration at the convention.

       3) Single or Married guy, wife or friend are attending all day Saturday:  Regular registration ($33) includes both Chorus competition and quartet finals Saturday evening,  Nothing due for him, friend should register for an additional $33.

      4) Couple attending all competition events which start Friday:  Regular registration ($33) for him paid by chapter, friend should register for an additional $33, making a total of $33 due.

     5)  Couple attending all events and the past champs show (Super Registrations):  Member pays $10 to upgrade his registration to Super, and wife/friend should register as a super registrant for $43, making a total of $53 due.

Competition Liaison Leonard Purvis may need to arrange group transportation for the "Saturday only" group, and if so the chapter would support that, but we'd encourage your help in defraying any expenses involved.  We'd encourage you to carpool and share expenses, but the most fun is staying in Kansas City either or both nights and enjoying the convention to the fullest.

It may be that there are still questions about this whole process.  Don't leave them confusing your mind.  Ask and we'll try to make sure you have a great experience in Kansas City! ♪

You have some guidance now for your costume for contest. I know that many of you are working hard on your costume, as you have e-mailed me with ideas and questions. We want to start wearing our costumes to rehearsal here in just a couple of weeks. The more we can get into the right frame of mind, and thinking about who we are telling this story, the more effective we will be. Good luck, and be sure to ask if you have any questions or concerns.

It was a September 4 quartet reunion at  Mel Emig's residence on September 4, 2007.  Pictured are Sam Kvasnica, Leonard Purvis, Bob Ridley and Mel Emig.  A good time was had by all as we sang some of

our repertoire, pole cats and enjoyed a celebration cake.
