Pat Caffey is our February Barbershopper of the Month. While he ably serves as chapter secretary, his contributions to production of our show numbers bring him recognition as one who contributes beyond the norm. Pat created the rifles we're using in one of our numbers on the show, and there will be evidence of his other creations as we approach Showtime. Congratulations Pat, and thanks for your willingness and enthusiasm in set and prop construction. ♪ |

The CSD felt it was important during my visit to: do some External Public Relations for the Barbershop Harmony Society. Create a greater demand and awareness for our music and membership in our Society. To do a Keynote Address for the Manhattan Rotary Club about the Barbershop Harmony Society To do a “live” radio interview with KMAN AM/FM Radio about the BHS and my trip. Both of these opportunities could not have gone better. The Manhattan Rotary Club address was very well received. The Manhattan Music Machine Quartet did a great job assisting me during my presentation for the Rotary membership. The Radio interview also went very well. It lasted about fifteen minutes and covered our Society’s mission and my role as a Music Specialist during my week in the Central States District Well know Barbershopper, Bob Swenson, who coordinated these two opportunities, will be following up. I do know that there were inquiries on how to get tickets for the upcoming Manhattan Show after the Rotary Club meeting. Working with the Late Night Edition and a good ladies quartet high school quartet was a lot of fun and most rewarding. Local chapter leaders will follow-up to provide quality coaching for the sweet Adeline quartet. The Late Night Edition will request and receive some very good coaching in the future to help them on their way to becoming a quality quartet. : This was one of the finest district visits I’ve ever made. It was well organized and thus filled with many success events. I must also take this opportunity to thank Bob Aderholt and Don Fuson for doing such great jobs of coordinating my visit to the CSD and being such terrific chauffeurs. ♪ |
