This photo was taken on March 22.  It was the night you were to have your costume ready.  There are two things wrong with this picture.  One is how many of you are in your costume?  The other you can try to figure out.  Ask me I will tell you.

I was born and grew up in a small farming community in Southeast Missouri. I attended college at Southeast Missouri State University where I obtained a BS (not barbershop) degree in 1977. I then attended the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Dentistry and graduated with a DDS degree in 1982. The next 21 years was spent in the U.S. Army from which I retired in 2003 at Ft. Riley.  Along the way I married my wife’ Toni’ and we had three children Pat, Kearsten, and Karra. We have lived in Manhattan since 1999.

My first experience with organized singing came like most of us by singing in the church choir. I then had the opportunity to sing in the Missouri Boys State choir my senior year in high school.  Since that time most of my singing has been in the shower.

A fellow dentist, Ken Lyle, invited me to the open house in September ’06 and I really enjoyed it. I had also seen the Little Apple Chorus show for three years running and thought it was great. I really enjoy the singing and friendliness of the group. It has also given me a chance to meet people in the community I otherwise would have missed.

One thing I have learned about barbershop singing: It’s not as easy as it looks!!!!!! ♪
