The chapter and chorus meet  every Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the First Methodist Church Activity Center
on the corner of Poyntz and  6th Street, Manhattan, Kansas.

On July 16, we brought our former Exchange student Hannes Rieger and his family to barbershop with us. They had not experienced the barbershop style of singing and wanted to see just what it is.  They enjoyed what they heard.

After the meeting was over, we were just waiting to head home, when Myron Calhoun came over to Terry Nanninga and asked to do some hangers.  The Germans said they did not know how to sing but Myron assured them, they could do it and he would get them some help.  And he did.  You can see by the smiles in the picture that everyone was having a great time.  A once in a life time experience.  They talked about it for quite a while and total enjoyed it.  Hannes’ mother Uta took a recording of it, at first to be truthful it sounded pretty bad but it did get better.  What fun.  Isn’t that what barbershop is all about?

A Once in a Lifetime Experience

Enjoying singing hangers are:  Bob Ridley, Myron Calhoun, Terry Nanninga, Hannes Rieger, Uwe Rieger,
Niko Wobig and
Leonard Purvis.  The visitors are from Biersfeld, Germany
