Everyone who checked out tickets should have received a ticket checkout form to be filled out and returned to Chaz by April 27. If you didn’t get a checkout form, see Chaz for a copy. Tickets have four categories; 1) sold to an individual, 2) ad tickets included with an ad sale, 3) returned tickets, or 4) "lost" tickets. Money from tickets sold to individuals is returned to Chaz. Money form ad sales is returned to Pete. Tickets returned go to Chaz are given back to McCain for door sales. Tickets lost cost $1.00. We have to deal with McCain and their rules. They evidently like our chapter because they grant us "favors". We don’t want to spoil this relationship. Please do your best to get unsold tickets to Chaz by April 27. Chaz Martin ♪ |

Our chapter has a Vision Statement that will serve as the guiding image for our energies and actions. It was developed by board members and directors at a Planning Meeting January 7. Approval of the Vision and Mission Statements occurred at the Board meeting, Monday, February 20. They were published in draft form in the January issue of the InCider Press. The Vision Statement is: “The Manhattan Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society is to proclaim, perpetuate and enjoy the a cappella music art form with emphasis on the barbershop style” Harvey Kiser VP, Marketing and Public Relations |

The Board voted to consider five different Sundays this summer as potential for church performances. We will select the THREE dates which the majority of the Chorus members will be available, and then work with the churches to develop our schedule. The potential dates are June 25, July 16, 23, 30, and August 6. Please check your calendars and with your family and friends regarding summer weekend plans. I will bring a sign-up sheet as we did last year, and ask you to indicate which of these 5 dates you think you will be available. I know this seems like a long way off, but it takes a period of time to get this information collected, then the requests out to the churches and times and dates worked out. I discovered last year that the churches are anxious to get their summer music schedule confirmed. This is a community service that is greatly appreciated by our area congregations. Thanks for your help in getting this first step accomplished. I'll have the sign-up sheet at the Chapter meetings over the next several weeks . Steve Fisher ♪ |

More than a year ago, the chorus was asked to sing again on the schedule for the Clay Center Arts Council, and the Board agreed. We will be doing a paid performance for them on Sunday, April 2. The performance begins at 2 p.m., and will last for about 1 hour. Members able to attend should plan to arrive at the Clay Center High School no later than 1:15 p.m. and find the vocal room where we will warm up. Performance attire will be our black tux, white tux shirt with studs, red bow tie and cummerbund, and black shoes. Steve Fisher |
