The Little Apple Chorus of 42 chapter members and quartets enjoyed performing for the Clay County Arts Council, Sunday, April 2. The chorus enjoyed featuring many of its repertoire songs and sang a few songs that will be sung at our Spring Show serving as a ‘teaser’ inviting the audience to attend our April 29th show. Ken Lang, our Music Director explained the process of his arranging the song “He” that will be sung on our show. The chorus enjoyed singing and presenting the message of this song for the first time in public. Part of the concert involved the singing by the Classic Impressions of Don Thomson, Bill Hansen, Jim Lindquist, and Leonard Purvis. This quartet was a registered quartet back in the late 70’s and the members enjoyed the reunion. The Apple Core-tet of Myron Calhoun, Bill Hanson, Bob Ridley, and Leonard Purvis, another registered quartet, enjoyed singing. The Charades, a registered quartet, of Ken Garwick, Gene Wiley, Jim Eickman and Leonard Purvis, ably entertained the audience in its usual excellent singing and banter. The concert was well received by the audience giving the chorus a standing ovation. Members of the chorus have reported the concert was well received. We were pleased to assist the Arts Council. Thanks to Steve Fisher, VP, Music and Performance and Ken Lang in making the arrangements for the performance. We extend our thanks to other chapter members who took the riser chairs and the riser railing to Clay Center. Harvey Kiser VP, Marketing and Public Relations |
